Post by Tim ChmielewskiWhat was that one with the rain machine meant to be about? Was it an
acutal movie or what?
Bruce Dern as Otto Dix used to be just a psychiatrist, but has invented a
rain machine that runs on radium to fight meteorological sexual
repression. He teaches young KaTe As A Boy (her mother is missing) how to
sit in the machine and manipulate the levers until the rain comes. Some
people would consider this a good and healthy thing, but the authorities
apparently think otherwise. As they're taking Bruce Dern away, KaTe As A
Boy runs up and manipulates the levers to make it rain all over their car
as it's driving off. Bruce Dern is happy. He has won. Meanwhile the
machine is irradiating all their stuff (making Boy KaTe's yo-yo glow, for
example), which makes Boy KaTe afraid. Maybe justifiably, although Bruce
Dern would probably just laugh it off. The crew apparently thought they
were filming a really long car commercial, but it was "just" a music
video. KaTe didn't actually make any movies until "The Line, The Cross &
The Curve" [TLTCTC or simply "/ + )"] with Miranda Richardson, where
Caribbean women smear her with melon juice to cure a midlife crisis that
not even regular performance of the qabalistic cross ritual could defeat!
And we all know how powerful the qabalistic cross ritual is, it's even in
the FAQ!
