His demise was not unexpected -- unfortunately -- as he had been
suffering from post-polio syndrome for a while now. Three months ago,
there was a wonderful, heartfelt outpouring of support for him when his
daughter posted an appeal for financial aid, as his funds for medical
coverage had run out. The resulting generosity of all of RAW's friends
and supporters allowed him to live out his final days in peace -- if
not free from pain, then at least free from worry.
